FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Pelvic Floor physical therapy is a specific form of therapy that identifies and addresses issues related to the muscles, joints, connective tissue and nerves within and around the pelvis. This area is not only houses such components but is responsible for: assisting with postural control, supporting the abdominal and pelvic organs, controlling the bowel and bladder and even sexual function. Treatment for pelvic issues involves a variety of methods including manual therapy techniques such as trigger point releases and soft tissue mobilization, therapeutic exercise and strengthening, relaxation and breathing techniques, improved postural awareness, and biofeedback.
All sessions are performed 1-on-1 with you and your therapist. Sessions include a comprehensive interview and assessment which may include the need for an internal assessment to better assess the strength and integrity of the pelvic floor muscles (adult patients only). Once finished an individualized plan will be created.
Sessions are typically an hour, except for in person and in-gym assessments which may be up to an hour and a half.
In most states, including the state of Georgia you do not need to see a physical therapist for a consultation. You are however limited to 8 visits within a 21 day period, so the need for a prescription may depend on the severity of your issue.
JMM Health Solutions is not credentialed with any insurance providers. We believe in autonomy with regards to treating our clients and as a result we are able to offer one-on-one sessions to provide the level of care needed for our patients. This means faster recovery in a shorter period of time/ fewer visits. You will be able to submit a claim to your insurance provider after treatment if you choose and we can provide you with a detailed invoice to facilitate this.
We accept cash, check, credit card and HSA for payment at the time of your appointment for in person visits and prior to for online consultations.
Absolutely. As a pelvic health therapist this is not uncommon and by no means stops us from continuing with sessions. We can definitely continue, as long as you feel comfortable with doing so.
